REMINDER: MTA to Perform CBTC Signal Installation Work on E, F and R Lines in Queens Starting March 17

Forest Hills-Bound   Trains Will End at Queens Plaza After 9:30 p.m.;   and   Trains Will Run Local to Accommodate   Customers 

 Trains to Run Local During Overnight Hours 

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today issued a reminder that the next phase of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signal installation work will begin on the Queens Boulevard East line this Friday, March 17. The installation work will impact service on the   and   lines in Queens during the evening and overnight hours. 

Beginning Friday, March 17, crews will ramp up installation work between the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens and Jamaica-179 St stations, which will require service changes on evenings and overnights seven days a week. During that time the   and   lines will have the following changes. 

 Line to Forest Hills-71 Av, Queens, Ends Early All Nights 

After 9:30 p.m. Forest Hills-bound   trains will end at Queens Plaza. Queens-bound   and   trains will run local in Queens to accommodate   train customers. 

There is no change in Brooklyn-bound   service. 

Queens-bound   Trains Run Local Earlier All Nights 

At approximately 10:00 p.m., Queens-bound   trains will run local from Queens Plaza to Forest Hills-71 Av, continuing to Jamaica Center. 

There is no change in Manhattan-bound   service. 

 Trains Run Local in Queens During Overnight Hours on All Nights 

At approximately 10:00 p.m., Queens-bound   trains will run local from 36 St, Queens, to Forest Hills-71 Av, continuing to Jamaica-179 St until 6:15 a.m. 

Starting at about 10:45 p.m. Brooklyn-bound   trains from Jamaica-179 St will run local from Forest Hills – 71 Av to 36 St, Queens until 5:15 a.m.

WhatsApp – Customers can chat with NYC Transit via WhatsApp. Riders can receive customer service support in their native language through the help of Google Translate.
