New process during the coronavirus pandemic

You must file a claim for a lost item. If we find it, we’ll contact you and you can make an appointment to pick it up. Please do not come see us in person without an appointment.

Before you contact us, make sure you have looked at our step-by-step guide to what to do if you have lost something on our subways or buses. We’re the last stop for items lost on New York Transit, but they don't get to us right away. If you lost the item recently, there are other places you should check first.

You can file a lost and found claim online, 24 hours a day.

You can contact us by phone by calling 511. We’re available to take your call daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
