Subway and rail service changes: February 10-13

There are service changes on the subway and Long Island Rail Road this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.

If you're a Long Island Rail Road rider, you'll want to know about this big news: A new LIRR schedule is coming on February 27, including full service to Grand Central. Speaking of changes, here's what's going on this weekend:

  •  trains aren't running at all overnight
  •  trains aren't running between Queensboro Plaza and 34 St-Hudson Yards
  •  trains aren't running between Norwood-205 St and 161 St-Yankee Stadium
  •  trains are running every 15 minutes
  •  trains aren't running between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av
  •  trains aren't running between Jefferson Av and Tottenville

Major subway service changes

 trains, Manhattan

Service is suspended from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Saturday, 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, and 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday. This is because of track replacement.

  • Free shuttle buses are running between Harlem-148 St and 135 St  . Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
  • For service between 135 St and Times Sq-42 St, take the   train.
  • Reminder: During overnight hours,   and   trains run between Manhattan and Brooklyn.

 trains, Manhattan and Queens

Trains are not running between Queensboro Plaza and 34 St-Hudson Yards in either direction from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • Free shuttle buses are running in two sections:
    • Between 34 St-Hudson Yards and Times Sq-42 St.
    • Between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av.
    • Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
  •  trains are running between Queensboro Plaza and Flushing-Main St.
  • For service between Manhattan and Queens, take   trains.
  • Special weekend   service is running every 20 minutes between 34 St-Herald Sq and Astoria-Ditmars Blvd from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • 42 St Shuttle   trains will run overnight.

Queensboro Plaza-bound trains are running on the express track from 74 St-Broadway to Queensboro Plaza from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Main St-bound train.

 trains, Bronx

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday,   trains are not running between 161 St-Yankee Stadium and Norwood-205 St in either direction, and downtown trains are not stopping at 155 St. This is because of structural maintenance work.

  •  trains are running between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 161 St-Yankee Stadium.
  • For service to/from 155 St, take an uptown   train.
  • For service between 161 St-Yankee Stadium and Bedford Park Blvd, take the  .
  • Norwood-205 St is connected by a free shuttle bus to Mosholu Pkwy  . Transfer between the   and the   at 161 St-Yankee Stadium.

 trains, all boroughs

On Saturday and Sunday,   trains are running every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is because trains are sharing the local track in Brooklyn while we perform electrical work.

 trains, Brooklyn

Trains are not running between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in either direction from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track replacement.

  • Free shuttle buses are running between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
  •  trains are running between Jamaica-179 St and Kings Hwy.
  • For direct service to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av, take   trains.
  • For direct service to/from W 8 St-NY Aquarium, take the   train.

 trains, Staten Island

Trains aren't running between Jefferson Av and Tottenville in either direction from 1 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday because of maintenance work.

  • Free shuttle buses are running between Jefferson Av and Tottenville. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
  •  trains are running between St. George and Jefferson Av.

Other service changes

 trains, Manhattan

Downtown trains are running on the express track from 14 St-Union Sq to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.

 trains, Brooklyn

Queens-bound   and Euclid Av-bound   trains are running on the express track from Utica Av to Broadway Junction from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

Long Island Rail Road service changes

Long Beach Branch

Trains are not running between Valley Stream and Long Beach in both directions from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 4:15 a.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • Shuttle buses are running between Valley Stream and Long Beach.
  • For service to/from Lynbrook, take a Babylon Branch train.
  • The last trains to run on Friday night are the 9 p.m. train from Atlantic Terminal and the 10:16 p.m. train from Long Beach.
  • Service resumes Sunday morning with the 3:15 a.m. train from Jamaica and the 5:05 a.m. train from Long Beach.
  • You may experience up to 30 minutes of additional travel time.
