Subway and rail service changes: August 26-29

There are service changes on the subway and Long Island Rail Road this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.
Updated August 26, 2022 9:00 a.m.

There may be one month of summer left, but now's the time to get those last few trips to the beach or the city's pools in before they close for the year. (You have until September, but still — don't you want to take a dip at the Rockaways as much as possible?) Whatever you do this weekend, we're here to get you where you're going.

And soon, you'll be able to get these changes in your inbox: We're launching a weekly newsletter, sent every Friday, that will give you a heads up on planned work and travel alternatives for affected routes. Sign up now to receive the newsletter when it launches.

For more details on how service will be affected across all modes of transit, check out our Planned Work tool and search for your subway, bus, or rail line.

These service changes are subject to change, so check the MTA homepage before heading out; it's where you'll find up-to-the-minute information on subway, bus, and rail service.
