July 9-12: No Westbound Service at Woodside, Forest Hills, and Kew Gardens

Port Washington Branch Trains Will Stop at Woodside
Updated July 9, 2021 9:52 a.m.

Weekend Service Change Affects Westbound Customers Traveling to/from Kew Gardens, Forest Hills and Woodside

From 10 p.m. Friday evening through 5 a.m. Monday morning, westbound trains will operate nonstop from Jamaica to Penn Station so that signal testing work for the East Side Access (ESA) Project can be safely performed. As a result, there will be no westbound service at Kew Gardens and Forest Hills, and only Port Washington Branch trains will provide westbound service at Woodside.

Service Alternatives

During this time period, westbound customers can remain on their train to Penn Station and then transfer to the next eastbound train stopping at Woodside, Forest Hills, or Kew Gardens at no additional charge. Customers can also exit at Jamaica and transfer for subway service, also at no additional charge. NYC Transit (NYCT) will cross-honor LIRR tickets at:

  • Sutphin Blvd/Archer Av/JFK Airport
  • Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike
  • Forest Hills-71 Av
  • Woodside-61 St

Traveling to a Mets game this weekend? Stay on your train to Penn Station and then transfer to a Port Washington-bound train for service to Mets-Willets Point.
