Two elevators at Grand Central Madison will be out of service for inspection and maintenance from 10 p.m. Friday, March 1 to Sunday morning, March 3 and again from 10 p.m. Friday, March 23 through Sunday night, March 25. The elevators affected are located adjacent to the LIRR’s Grand Central Madison waiting room and ticket office near 47 St. These elevators connect the LIRR concourse with the mezzanine.
While the work is underway, customers requiring alternate elevator access should plan ahead and allow additional time to enter and exit the terminal. Extra LIRR customer service personnel will be on duty on the LIRR concourse and mezzanine levels during the outage to assist riders who need help locating alternate elevator service.
Escalators and all other elevators serving Grand Central Madison will remain in service throughout the weekend.
