Lisa Schreibman

Acting Senior Vice President, New York City Transit Department of Subways

Lisa Schreibman has more than 28 years in the transportation industry, the last 22 of which has been at the MTA. Most recently she served at the Vice President and Chief Officer of Capital Strategy and Management overseeing Subways input into the capital planning and delivery process. She and her group serve as the liaison between Construction and Development and the operating and maintenance groups of Subways. As such, the team works on the 5-year planning process, budgeting capital heads, and helping troubleshoot a wide variety of issues. She is also the project sponsor for Subways projects. Previously, Lisa worked in the Operations Planning Division and among other successes was instrumental in getting New York City’s Zoning Code changed so that the MTA can more easily build accessibility features. She also managed groups overseeing benchmarking, station design and Title VI analysis. She spent two years working on the fare payment program (now OMNY). She began her career at NYCT in Subways Capital Programs where among other responsibilities she was the liaison for the 7 Line Extension project.

Concurrently to working at the MTA, Lisa was an adjunct professor in the Urban Planning Department of Hunter College for 17 years teaching a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses. She served on the Board of Directors of the Greater New York Chapter of WTS from 2022-2023. Lisa has been a mentor both with WTS and with the New York Metro Chapter of the American Planning Association.

Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Hunter College and a BA from New York University. She attended NYC public schools through high school. She has been AICP certified for more than 20 years. She does not remember her first subway or bus rides, but has been commuting since high school using the subway and is immensely honored to be serving as the interim Senior Vice President of Subways.
