MTA Police Department Chief Administrative Officer Kristine Ryan joins the MTA following her tenure as the NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Management and Budget (DCMB). While Deputy Commissioner she served as the Chief Financial Officer of the NYPD,  developing the financial strategy for the Department and coordinating and overseeing:  financial planning; procurement of goods and services; capital construction; payment of expenditures; the processing of contracts; the Department fleet; safeguarding, producing and maintaining integrity of all property coming into the custody of the Department including evidence; and the management and maintenance of Department facilities.

Prior to joining the NYPD Deputy Commissioner Ryan spent two decades working in the Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget, where she served as the Deputy Budget Director responsible for budgetary oversight of New York City’s criminal justice, public safety, and administrative agencies.  In this capacity she worked closely with City Hall staff and agency commissioners to evaluate the financial impact and resource needs of new and ongoing policies and programs at more than 50 city agencies, including the NYPD, the Department of Correction, the Fire Department, the Law Department, the offices of the District Attorneys, and the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice.

Chief Administrative Officer Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College and a Master of Public Policy degree from SUNY Albany Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.
